Mrs Olawale Veronica from the Corps Discipline and Reward Branch has told the 2021 Batch B stream I corps members that there is a reward for those who committed to faithful service.
She made the disclosure while delivering a lecture on the function of the Branch at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Wednesday.
According to her, the NYSC scheme is geared towards equipping Nigerian youths with the right knowledge, skills, ability and instilling discipline for smooth transition into the larger society and thus the scheme would not hesitate to reward diligent performance and also, mete out appropriate sanctions to deviants.
She encouraged corps members to make positive changes in their host communities beginning with viable projects that will have direct impact on their host community.
" With right involvement in the orientation activities, community services and the place of primary assignment, corps members stand a chance to win awards, ranging from the chairman's award to the presidential award that comes with automatic employment and scholarship to further their education " she added.
She concluded by emphasizing the fact that awards are being given only after due process of scrutiny is carried out to ascertain the worth of the service rendered.
