Digital Skills Indispensable To Our World Today - Adeleye

Mr. Adeleye Oluwaferanmi from the Google Mind the Gap has told the 2021 Batch B stream I corps members that digital skills are indispensable for survival in the world today and it is imperative that individuals get acquainted with these skills in order to be in tune with latest trends.

According to him, Mind the Gap is responsible for Job Creation and Social Enterprise Incubation and it advocates the need for digital skills in this decade. He highlighted the importance of getting acquainted with the Digital Economy as most recent billionaires such as the founder of Facebook, have their wealth entrenched in the digital space which has been made possible by the internet. 

"In line with the current reality of our world, there is a dire need to stress the need of humans to evolve to meet the current needs in the digital space. It is a call to action for everybody”, he said. 

The sensitisation which took place on Saturday at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede also featured an interplatoon debate on the topic 'Digital Skills a Necessity for Effective Leadership'. The Platoons had two Representatives who gave a talk on the topic of discourse for a combined duration of five minutes.

After intense sessions, the debate ended with Platoon 2 coming first, Platoon 4 second and Platoon 6 third.
